Whether you’re popping the question at a scenic overlook, beside a rushing waterfall, or in a dreamy forest setting, here’s my guide to choosing the perfect outfit for a proposal in the Smokies.
Dress for the Season
The Smoky Mountains experience all four seasons, and each one brings its own unique beauty—but also its own set of wardrobe considerations!
Spring (March-May) – Blooming Flowers & Mild Temps
🌿 What to Wear: Light layers, flowy dresses, and neutral or pastel colors complement the fresh greens and wildflowers.
🌧️ Pro Tip: Spring showers can pop up unexpectedly, so consider water-resistant shoes and bring a stylish jacket just in case.
Summer (June-August) – Warm Days & Golden Sunsets
☀️ What to Wear: Lightweight fabrics like linen or cotton, breathable dresses, and comfortable, sturdy sandals.
💧 Pro Tip: It can get humid, so avoid heavy fabrics and dark colors that show sweat. Also, bring a small towel if you’re hiking!
Fall (September-November) – Stunning Foliage & Crisp Air
